UnipodUnipod is a new Project that originates from the collaboration between Jean Nouvel and Troll. Its application in the Poblenou Park in Barcelona has achieved the creation of a singular space, a universe of light and shadow. The Unipod concept is built around recreating the effects of natural light over vegetation, using the interplay of light and shadow. Unipod rejects the typical image of traditional lighting power control columns, although it reaches a maximum height of 8 metres, the section keeps its highly stylised aspect, as if it were in fact a pole vault. The column gradient makes it aerodynamic which allows it to get closer to the elements over which it is focussed. The diffuser groups can be situated at different working heights in individual modes or in groups of two or three luminaires. The diffusers are crowned by a superior reflector which prevents any undesired light emissions. They also incorporate an internal reflector that provides extensive symmetric distribution over horizontal surfaces. |
