Sagrada Familia

Troll and Led&Co have collaborated in the unique lighting project for the Central Nave of the recently consecrated Sagrada Familia Basilica, in close collaboration with the team of architects that leads the continuation of the work. The result has always intended to respect the special relevance Antoni Gaudí gave to the integration of light in his architectural spaces, as he expressed in his concept of light: “The essential quality of the work of art is harmony, which in such works is born of light, which brings out relief and decorates.” Antoni Gaudí.

To carry out the project, specific luminaires have been developed to adapt to the particular applications described by the famous architect, achieving the complete integration of artificial lighting in the architecture, without interrupting the contribution of daylight, just as Antoni Gaudí required.

The project has required different lighting needs, including general overhead lighting, architectural floodlighting of domes and interior walls, and highlighting of architectural elements. With the aim of achieving the different effects, the most modern and efficient light sources have been used (LED’s with high colour rendering, metal halide and white sodium, among others).
