Riddle“Light is a question of feeling.“ Jean Nouvel Riddle is a project that arose as a direct result of the design collaboration between Jean Nouvel and Troll. Riddle emerged from a real project, the Poblenou Park in Barcelona. The project has the need for light that could burst forth and merge with the surrounding shadows and plants. This concept of a "burst of light" has taken the shape of a sphere perforated with holes of various sizes. The light inside flows through the holes randomly. Riddle is a sphere of cast aluminium or polycarbonate, in two sizes perforated with randomly shaped holes. It can be fitted to the floor, ceiling or wall, or remain suspended or fixed to lighting columns, becoming an object that radiates light onto walls, plants, the ground and elsewhere. The success of this design has been vouched for by obtaining the DESIGN PLUS prize at the Light + Building 2008 fair, a prize that is internationally recognised and associated with the highest product quality. |
